Royals Charities had its own championship year
Foundation announces that $1.5 million in funding went to 122 organizations in 2015
KANSAS CITY -- It was a great year for the World Series champion Royals -- and it was a great year for Royals Charities, the charitable foundation of the Royals, as well.
Royals Charities announced Monday that funding of $1.5 million in 2015 went to 122 organizations and governmental entities in the Kansas City area that support children, education, youth baseball/softball and the military.
That funding represented more donations than ever before to area organizations. Those organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, Dream Factory, El Centro, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas RBI, KVC Health Systems, MoKan 20/20 Leadership, Operation Breakthrough, Special Olympics KC Metro, the University of Kansas Hospital NICU and Whiteman Air Force Base.
Royals Charities now has donated more than $10.5 million to Kansas City area charities since 2001. All 501(c)(3) organizations operating in the Kansas City area that support children, education, youth baseball/softball and the military are welcome to apply for a Royals Charities grant. The deadline for the spring grant cycle is March 1, 2016.
