Royals FanFest scheduled for Jan. 19

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The 2013 Royals FanFest will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Overland Park (Kan.) Convention Center, the club announced on Monday.

It will be a one-day event rather than the two days that had been held in recent years. There was no FanFest in 2012 as the club focused on hosting the All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium.

FanFest is presented by Sprint and Teva Neuroscience, with a portion of the proceeds going to Royals Charities.

There will be more opportunities to collect autographs than at previous FanFests, with continuous sessions featuring current and former players and club personalities planned throughout the event.

Hours for the general public will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. Season-ticket holders can purchase discounted tickets and receive exclusive access from 9-11 a.m.

The program will also include interactive games for kids and roundtable discussions with players and front-office executives. During the event, the Royals' award winners -- Player of the Year Billy Butler, Pitcher of the Year Greg Holland and Special Achievement winner Alcides Escobar -- will be recognized.

Royals merchandise and memorabilia will also be available.

FanFest ticket prices are as follows:

Adult advance: $12
Adult day of sale: $14
Youth advance: $6
Youth day of sale: $8
Season-ticket holder (advance only): $6
Season-ticket holder, youth (advance only): $3
(Youth prices are for ages 6-17; children 5 and under are admitted free)

Tickets are available via royals.com/fanfest, by calling (816) 504-4040 or at the Kauffman Stadium box office during business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Tickets will be sold on the day of the event at Overland Park Convention Center. For updated information on player appearances, visit royals.com/fanfest.
