Paredes hits for cycle in Storm Chasers' win

KANSAS CITY -- Jimmy Paredes had a parade of hits and RBIs for Triple-A Omaha on Monday night in a 19-1 victory over New Orleans, a Marlins affiliate.

Paredes, an infielder-outfielder up with Kansas City briefly this season, had the first cycle in the four years that the Storm Chasers have played at Werner Park.

After going hitless in two at-bats, Paredes hit a grand slam in the fourth inning. The homer began the cycle in reverse order. He had a two-run triple in the sixth, a run-scoring double in the seventh and an RBI single in the eighth.

The eight RBIs were double Paredes' total of four in his 17 previous games for the Storm Chasers.

Paredes' eight RBIs were just the second-highest in a game this year for Omaha, however. Brett Eibner had nine in a game on April 9.
