Omaha Storm Chasers (40-49)

Omaha broke open a 3-3 game with a six-run eighth. Willy Taveras doubled home a pair to put Omaha on top. Paulo Orlando finished 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Starter Everett Teaford allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over 5.0 innings. Brian Sanches won in relief, holding the Express to one hit over 4.0 shutout stanzas.

NW Arkansas Naturals (8-8 2nd half, 33-53 overall)

HR: None

Northwest Arkansas allowed four unearned runs in an opening loss at Frisco. Sugar Ray Marimon (4.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 2 BB) dropped to 5-9 on the year. Brian Fletcher extended his hitting streak to 15 games, the longest this season in the Texas League. He's batting .375 (24-for-64) over the stretch. Mitch Canham finished 3-for-3 with a walk and the lone Naturals run.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (9-6 2nd half, 42-43 overall)

Wilmington 8, Potomac 3

HR: None

Wilmington moved to 2-1 in a four-game road series. Carolina League All-Star Kyle Smith took a shutout into the fourth, allowing two runs, seven hits and two walks through 5.2 innings. Alex McClure was 3-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs. Dennis Raben and Jared Schlehuber added two RBI apiece.

Lexington Legends (11-5 2nd half, 44-40 overall)

Lexington 3, West Virginia 1 (Suspended due to rain)

Lexington was one out away from an official game and a victory when play was stopped at West Virginia. Raul Mondesi tripled home a run in the fourth and scored on a passed ball. The game was scheduled to resume today, however, it was postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

Idaho Falls Chukars (5-12)

Idaho Falls 8, Grand Junction 4
WP: Yender Caramo (1-1)
HR: Cody Stubbs (2)

Idaho Falls stopped a three-game losing streak, moving to 1-2 vs. Grand Junction. Jonathan Dziedzic held the Rockies to a run on seven hits over 4.0 innings. Cody Stubbs tripled, homered and drove in three runs. Zane Evans was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs.

Burlington Royals (8-7)

Burlington 14, Princeton 7
WP: Kevin McCarthy (2-0)
HR: Sam Bates (2)

A nine-run fifth propelled Burlington to a three-game sweep. Sam Bates singled and homered in the inning, finishing with three RBI and three runs. Bobby Brown added three hits, three RBI and two runs. Mauricio Ramos is batting .415 (22-for-53) after posting three hits, two RBI and three runs.

Surprise Royals (6-8)

Surprise 4, Arizona Athletics 3
WP: Luis Rico (1-0)
SV: Alex Black (1)
HR: None

Surprise followed KC's lead in defeating an Athletics squad by a 4-3 count. Luis Rico (5.0 IP, 4 H, 3 ER) picked up the win. Kevin Perez (2.1 IP) and Alex Black (1.2 IP) held the Athletics scoreless in relief.
