Omaha Storm Chasers (38-32)

John Lamb struck out 10 over 7.0 strong innings as Omaha won game one in Iowa. Lamb held the Cubs to two runs, four hits and no walks, winning a fourth straight decision while lowering his ERA to 2.91 (22 ER in 68.0 IP). Scott Alexander posted 2.0 perfect frames for the save. Omaha scored three in the first off of former Royal Felipe Paulino. Casey Kotchman recorded two hits and an RBI.

NW Arkansas Naturals (0-1 Second Half, 40-31 Overall)

Arkansas 7, NW Arkansas 4
LP: Jake Junis (0-1 w/ NW Arkansas, 3-6 overall)
HR: Parker Morin (2)

The Naturals lost a second straight at Arkansas. Jake Junis made his Double-A debut, allowing five runs (four earned), seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 4.0 innings. Parker Morin's three-run homer gave the Naturals a 3-1 lead in the second. Balbino Fuenmayor tripled in the sixth and scored on Hunter Dozier's sacrifice fly.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (38-32)

California All-Stars 9, Carolina All-Stars 2

Wilmington's All-Stars played well, though their Carolina League squad lost 9-2 in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Ramon Torres played the entire game at second base, finishing 2-for-5 with a run. 2013 second-round pick Cody Reed made the start, posting a 1-2-3 first with two strikeouts. 2014 third-rounder Eric Skoglund tossed a scoreless fifth, allowing one hit. Alec Mills fanned both batters he faced in the eighth.

Lexington Legends (31-39)

SAL North All-Stars 7, SAL South All-Stars 5

HR: None

Five Legends played for the South squad in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game in Asheville, N.C. Ryan O'Hearn played the entire game at first base, with Elier Hernandez and Alfredo Escalera splitting time in right. Pedro Fernandez and Zach Lovvorn were charged with two earned runs apiece.

Idaho Falls Chukars (3-3)

Idaho Falls 9, Ogden 6

HR: Alexis Rivera (3), Brawlun Gomez (2)

The Chukars won a third straight game. Alexis Rivera hit his third homer in his last four games. Brawlun Gomez drove in three, including a two-run blast. Marten Gasparini stole three bases, giving him seven on the young season.

Burlington Royals (1-0)

Burlington 4, Princeton 2

HR: None

Burlington scored three in the ninth, taking a 4-1 lead en route to a win in Scott Thorman's managerial debut. Julio Pinto held the Rays to a run, three hits and three walks with one strikeout over 5.1 innings. Jose Martinez had three hits and an RBI.

Surprise Royals (2-1)

Arizona Reds 5, Surprise 4
LP: Arnaldo Hernandez (0-1)
HR: Jonathan McCray (1, 2)

The Surprise Royals fell short at Goodyear. Jonathan McCray supplied all of the offense, hitting a solo homer in the third and a three-run shot in the fourth. McCray was KC's 24th-round pick this month out of San Bernardino Valley College.
