Starling promoted to Double-A after hot start at Wilmington

Royals' 13th-ranked prospect hit .386 at Class A, with 2 HRs, 12 RBIs

KANSAS CITY -- Royals outfield prospect Bubba Starling, the fifth overall pick of the 2011 Draft, has received a promotion from Class A Wilmington to Double-A Northwest Arkansas, MLB.com has learned.

Starling, ranked 13th among Royals prospects by MLB.com, was off to a fast start at Wilmington, hitting .386 with a 1.084 OPS. He had two homers and 12 RBIs.

The Royals also placed outfielder Brett Eibner on the 15-day disabled list at Triple-A Omaha because of a strained hamstring.
