Players gearing up for Royals FanFest this weekend

Friday-Saturday event to be held at KC Convention Center's Bartle Hall

KANSAS CITY -- Some players were already greeting fans on the Royals Caravan and others were arriving in Kansas City for the two-day Royals FanFest that begins Friday.

At last count, 23 players from the Major League roster were to be at the FanFest which, for the first time, is being held downtown at the Kansas City Convention Center's Bartle Hall.

Players scheduled to appear were Lane Adams, Billy Butler, Lorenzo Cain, Louis Coleman, Tim Collins, Christian Colon, Aaron Crow, Wade Davis, Jarrod Dyson, Alcides Escobar, Johnny Giavotella, Alex Gordon, Jeremy Guthrie, Brett Hayes, Luke Hochevar, Greg Holland, Eric Hosmer, Donnie Joseph, Mike Moustakas, Salvador Perez, James Shields, Jason Vargas and Yordano Ventura. Crow, Davis and Shields were to appear on Friday only.

Hours for the general public are 2 to 9 p.m. CT on Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.

The event features interactive games, autograph sessions, stage presentations, a memorabilia silent auction and merchandise sales.
