Royals prospect Dozier advances to Double-A

DETROIT -- Third baseman Hunter Dozier, the Royals' first-round selection in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, has been promoted to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Dozier, rated the Royals' No. 6 prospect by MLB.com, batted .295 (66-for-224) for Class A Advanced Wilmington this year with 18 doubles, four homers, 39 RBIs and a .397 on-base percentage.

In 2013, Dozier's first professional season, he hit .303 for the Rookie team at Idaho Falls and then .327 for Class A Lexington. He had seven home runs, 30 doubles and 52 RBIs in a combined 69 games for those two teams.
