Prospect Hernandez logs four hits for Lexington

Outfielder Elier Hernandez, the Royals' No. 10 prospect, according to MLB.com, collected four hits in Class A Lexington's 16-8 win over Hickory on Tuesday.

Hernandez went 4-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. He matched his career high for hits, a mark he set a week ago with four singles against Greensboro.

Third baseman Mauricio Ramos went 5-for-5 with five runs, while Chad Johnson added four RBIs in the victory.

Hernandez began the season slowly, hitting .208/.253/.336 in April and May. He sustained a groin injury in late May and spent nearly three weeks on the disabled list. Since returning to the lineup on June 11, he is hitting .295/.326/.443.

Hernandez, 19, is in his first year of full-season ball. In 63 games this season, he is hitting .241/.280/.376 with six home runs.
