Royals recall Cheslor Cuthbert; place Moustakas on Bereavement/Family Medical Emergency List

KANSAS CITY, MO (July 6, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled infielder Cheslor Cuthbert from Triple-A Omaha and placed third baseman Mike Moustakas on the Bereavement/Family Medical Emergency List. Cuthbert will be in uniform (#19) for tonight's 7:10 p.m. game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Cuthbert, 22, is making his first appearance on the 25-man roster after signing with the Royals as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2009. He's spent the 2015 season with the Storm Chasers, batting .256 with 14 doubles, eight homers and 33 RBI in 76 games. He was a Texas League (AA) All-Star last season, playing with Northwest Arkansas, before being promoted to Triple-A near the end of the regular season.
