Royals secure outright waivers on outfielder Carlos Peguero

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 2, 2014) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have secured outright waivers on outfielder Carlos Peguero and assigned him to Triple-A Omaha.

Peguero, 27, was acquired by the Royals from Seattle on January 29, and hit .313 with 2 homers and 8 RBI in 18 games for KC during Spring Training. He was designated for assignment on March 25. Kansas City's Major League roster remains at 39 players.
