Salvy headache free, aims for light workouts

KANSAS CITY -- Catcher Salvador Perez woke up on Tuesday morning without a headache and is expected to start light workouts on Wednesday.

Perez was placed on the seven-day disabled list with a low-grade concussion after being hit in the mask during Saturday night's 12-inning, 4-3 win against the Mets.

"He feels better," manager Ned Yost said. "He'll come in today and take it easy. If he feels good again tomorrow we'll start light workouts, and hopefully if that's the case we're probably looking at seven days which is great news."

Outfielder David Lough, who left Sunday's game at New York with tightness in his right quadriceps, is expected to return to the lineup on Wednesday.
