Padres to televise 10 spring games on FSSD

Nine matchups from Arizona, exhibition vs. Mexican League team on broadcast schedule

SAN DIEGO -- The Padres announced their Spring Training television broadcast schedule on Friday, with 10 games set to be shown live during exhibition play.

Fox Sports San Diego will produce and televise nine Cactus League games from Arizona and one game from Petco Park, on April 4 when the Padres face the Mexico City Diablos Rojos.

FSSD's coverage begins on March 8 when the Padres face the Rockies at 1 p.m. PT.

The remaining televised games are March 14 vs. Rangers (1 p.m.), March 16 vs. Cubs (1 p.m.), March 17 vs. Brewers(1 p.m.), March 20 vs. Royals (7 p.m.), March 21 vs. D-backs (1 p.m.), March 23 vs. White Sox (1 p.m.), March 27 vs. Rockies (7 p.m.), March 31 vs. Royals (7 p.m.) and April 4 vs. Mexico City (2 p.m.).

Dick Enberg, the 2015 Ford C. Frick Award recipient, and former Padres pitcher Mark Grant will call half of the spring games. Former Padres first baseman and outfielder Mark Sweeney and Padres Social Hour host Jesse Agler will handle the other broadcasts.

As a warmup of sorts to Spring Training, FSSD will re-air six Padres games from 2014 beginning Jan. 25.

The six-part series, called "Sunday to Spring: The Best of Padres 2014" will be hosted by FSSD's Mike Pomeranz.

The game that will be shown on Jan. 25 is Andrew Cashner's one-hit shutout over the Tigers from April 11. On Feb. 1, FSSD will show a victory over the Royals from May 5. Tyson Ross' three-hit shutout of the Reds on July 2 will be shown on Feb. 8. Odrisamer Despaigne's near no-hitter from July 20 against the Mets will be shown on Feb. 15. The Padres' win over the Dodgers on Aug. 30 that included a walk-off single by Alexi Amarista, will be shown Feb. 22. Finally, Cashner's shutout of the Phillies from Sept. 30 will be shown on March 1.
