Several prospects part of Reds' 19 NRIs

Top Minor Leaguer Stephenson set for second camp; Winker invited to first

CINCINNATI -- Several Reds prospects, including five of the top six as ranked by MLB.com, will be among those invited to Spring Training 2015 as non-roster players.

The Reds on Monday announced 19 non-roster invites to camp overall.

It will be the first big league camp for the organization's No. 2 prospect, outfielder Jesse Winker, 2014 first-round Draft pick Nick Howard and '12 first-round pick Nick Travieso -- both right-handed pitchers.

Also invited back for the second straight year were the Reds' top prospect, right-handed pitcher Robert Stephenson, and No. 3 prospect Michael Lorenzen, also a right-hander.

Reds pitchers and catchers are set to report to Goodyear, Ariz., on Feb. 18, with physicals and the first workout slated for Feb. 19.

Also invited to camp were: right-handed pitchers Nate Adcock, Jonathon Crawford and Jon Moscot and left-hander Jose Mijares, a former Twins pitcher who was signed to a Minor League contract in December.

The list also includes catchers Ramon Cabrera, Kyle Skipworth and Chad Wallach; infielders Ivan De Jesus Jr., Irving Falu, Josh Satin and Neftali Soto; and outfielders Brennan Boesch, Ryan LaMarre and Felix Perez.

Soto played for the Reds last season but was sent outright off of the 40-man roster in October.

Reds position players report Feb. 23, followed the next morning by physical examinations. The first full-squad workout will be Feb. 24, following the position players' morning physicals.
