Robinson day to day after being hit by pitch

CINCINNATI -- Twins outfielder Shane Robinson left Wednesday's game against the Reds in the sixth inning after being hit near his left elbow by a 96-mph fastball from right-hander Johnny Cueto in the fifth. It was later announced he had a left elbow contusion.

Robinson, who started in left field, was hit near his left elbow in the top of the fifth. He was looked at by Twins manager Paul Molitor and trainer Dave Pruemer, and he remained in the game.

Robinson remained in left field for the bottom of the fifth, but he was replaced by Eduardo Escobar in the bottom of the sixth.

"He's day to day," Molitor said. "He wasn't really able to swing the bat. He couldn't do that. So we had to make a change there."  

Robinson was scratched from the lineup on Tuesday night with flu-like symptoms, but he felt good enough to play on Wednesday.
