Six Double-A prospects named to All-Star game

SEATTLE -- Houston will be well represented in the Texas League All-Star game, with six players on Double-A Corpus Christi selected to participate. Catcher Rene Garcia and outfielder George Springer will start for the South Division, with outfielder Domingo Santana in reserve. Pitchers Jake Buchanan, David Martinez, and Mike Foltynewicz are also on the team. The Hooks are in first place in their division at 38-25.

Springer is the Astros' third-ranked prospect, according to MLB.com., and Foltynewicz is also ranked among the top 10.

"We have some really good players there," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "Those are definitely prospect guys that at some point or another will be here to help this ballclub. We're excited about all of our young players."

The game is scheduled for June 25 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Ark.
