Six Yankees seek All-Star ballot momentum

SEATTLE -- Jacoby Ellsbury's name has appeared on more counted copies of the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot than any other Yankee, but the second checkpoint of voting for the Midsummer Classic sees every pinstriped candidate in need of a push to get to Cincinnati.

Ellsbury, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee sprain, has garnered 888,192 votes, placing him eighth among American League outfielders. He is expected to return to the Bombers' lineup later this month.

Besides Ellsbury, other Yankees listed in the second voting update were first baseman Mark Teixeira (fourth with 525,935 votes), catcher Brian McCann (fourth with 529,364 votes), designated hitter Alex Rodriguez (third with 563,288 votes), outfielder Carlos Beltran (12th with 471,929 votes) and outfielder Brett Gardner (13th with 458,849 votes).
