Snake bites

• Right-hander Daniel Hudson, working his way back from Tommy John surgery, gave up four runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one in six innings of an extended spring training start Wednesday. He threw 71 pitches.

• D-backs relievers tossed the football around before Wednesday's game against the Rangers at Cowboys Stadium, which is right across the street from the Ballpark in Arlington.

"I burned Tony Sipp. It's those long strides," said Matt Reynolds, who scored two touchdowns. "It's just something we do for fun. You can get stuck in ruts doing the same thing, so this makes it a little fun to break up the conditioning a little bit."

• The MRI Adam Eaton had last week was looked at by Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday for a second opinion. Eaton has been on the DL all season with a strained left elbow.
