Giants to receive Series rings before Sunday's game

The Giants will head home from Sunday afternoon's game with some hardware, as the members of the 2012 World Series champion club are set to receive their World Series rings.

Prior to the first pitch of their 1:35 p.m. PT contest against the Cardinals, the Giants will host a ceremony at AT&T Park honoring the players from the 2012 squad, which swept Detroit to win the World Series.

It'll be the club's second World Series ring ceremony in three years after the Giants took home the 2010 crown by defeating Texas. This time, they'll don specially designed gold-trimmed jerseys and caps to commemorate the occasion.

Along with the players, the first 40,000 fans in attendance will get replica versions.

Right-hander Matt Cain, who pitched the clinching Game 4 of last year's World Series will start for San Francisco. He faces St. Louis' Adam Wainwright.
