Alfaro injured a tendon in his left ankle earlier this week and had been in a boot before the organization opted for surgery.

Alfaro, 22, was hitting .253 with five home runs and 21 RBIs though 49 games at Double-A Frisco. Alfaro missed two months in 2012 with a strained hamstring and another month in 2013 with a fracture in his left hand.
