Twins acquire Eduardo Nunez from Yankees

Twins trade left-handed pitcher Miguel Sulbaran

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced that they have acquired infielder Eduardo Nunez from the New York Yankees in exchange for left-handed pitcher Miguel Sulbaran.

Nunez has played 270 career games for the Yankees, hitting .267 (201-for-752) with 40 doubles, seven triples, 10 home runs, 76 RBI and 102 runs scored since entering the league in 2010. The 26-year-old was signed by the Yankees as a free agent out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 2004. He will be assigned to Triple-A Rochester.

Sulbaran was originally acquired by the Twins on July 31, 2013 from Los Angeles-NL, in exchange for Drew Butera.
