Twins agree to terms with Joel Zumaya on a one-year contract
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Joel Zumaya on a one-year contract.
Zumaya, 27, missed the 2011 season with a right elbow injury, which required exploratory surgery on May 10th. He has a career record of 13-12, 3.05 ERA (209.2 ip, 71 er) with 114 walks and 210 strikeouts in 171 appearances, all with the Detroit Tigers.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder was the Tigers’ 11th round pick in the 2002 First-Year Player Draft.
