Arcia activated from DL, optioned to Triple-A

Twins outfielder staying with Rochester after going hitless during rehab assignment

BOSTON -- Twins outfielder Oswaldo Arcia has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list, but his return to the Major Leagues has been put on hold.

Arcia was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, the team announced, following the completion of his rehab assignment. Minnesota sent the 24-year-old Venezuelan to the DL on May 4 after he suffered a right hip flexor strain. He had been hitting .276 with a .338 on-base percentage in 19 games with the Twins before the injury.

After going hitless in 11 at-bats during his rehab games in Rochester, however, it appears the team is content to keep him in the Minors for the time being. The Twins' current array of outfielders includes Torii Hunter, Aaron Hicks, Eddie Rosario and Shane Robinson.
