Decline 2013 option on Matt Capps

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have assigned the following players outright off the major league roster: right-handed pitchers Jeff Manship, Luis Perdomo, Esmerling Vasquez, Kyle Waldrop, P.J. Walters and outfielder Matt Carson. In addition, right-handed pitcher Carlos Gutierrez was claimed on outright waivers by the Chicago Cubs and added to their 40-man roster.

Additionally, the Twins have notified right-handed pitcher Matt Capps that they will decline the club option for the 2013 season.

The Twins also announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitchers Scott Baker, Cole De Vries and Carl Pavano from the disabled list.

The Twins now have 35 players on their 40-man roster.
