Twins Place Nolasco on 15-Day Disabled List

Recall Catcher/Outfielder Chris Herrmann from Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Ricky Nolasco on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow strain (retro July 7). Nolasco has made 18 starts for the Twins, going 5-7, with a 5.90 ERA (103.2 IP, 68 ER), 28 walks and 72 strikeouts.

To replace Nolasco on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann from Triple-A Rochester. Herrmann played in 22 games for the Red Wings during his most recent stint at Rochester, hitting .291 (23-for-79) with eight doubles, 11 RBI and a .380 on-base percentage.
