Twins select contract of OF Chris Herrmann

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann from Double-A New Britain.  He will join the club tonight at Target Field.

Herrmann, who will wear uniform number 23, appeared in 127 games for the Rock Cats this season and hit .276 (135-for-490) with 25 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 61 RBI and 91 runs scored. The 24-year old, who served as the Rock Cats primary catcher, was drafted by the Twins in the sixth round of the 2009 First-Year Player draft out of the University of Miami.

With the addition of Herrmann, the Twins now have 40 players on their 40-man roster, including 30 active.
