Twins to recall Tsuyoshi Nishioka

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will recall infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka from Triple-A Rochester.  In 84 games for the Red Wings this season, Nishioka has batted .245 (79-for-322) with 13 doubles, one triple, one home run, 24 rbi, 32 runs scored and 29 walks.  Nishioka will join the Twins tomorrow in Cleveland.

After playing in parts of eight seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball with the Chiba Lotte Mariners, the Japanese infielder signed a three-year contract with the Twins prior to the 2011 season.  Nishioka spent the entire year with the Twins in 2011 but missed 59 games after fracturing his left fibula on April 7 in New York.
