Pineda, 21, is currently hitting .421 (56-for-133), with nine doubles, three triples, 14 stolen bases and 20 runs scored for the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Red Sox.  The switch-hitting outfielder, was originally signed by the Red Sox prior to the 2011 season, and will be assigned to the Gulf Coast League Twins.

Valencia, who was originally drafted by the Twins in the 19th round of the 2006 First-Year Player draft, spent his entire career in the Twins organization, including appearing in 34 games for the Twins this season.

The Twins will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow’s game in Cleveland.
