Nationals getting catchers consecutive starts

LOS ANGELES -- Manager Davey Johnson would like to see some of his hitters get going at the plate. So he decided to start catcher Kurt Suzuki for the second straight game. Entering Monday's action, Suzuki was hitting .243 with two home runs and nine RBIs.

Johnson is planning to play Wilson Ramos in consecutive games sometime this week. Suzuki and Ramos were playing every other day because Johnson didn't want to put any added pressure on Ramos, who was recovering from knee surgery. Ramos is also off to a slow start, hitting .233 with two home runs and six RBIs.

"It's a difficult situation, just trying to get some guys more in the swing of things," Johnson said. "There is a certain rhythm that you get into as an everyday player and those guys are used to playing every day. So I'm going to get some semblance of that. They are both catching very well."
