Nats would listen to trade offers for Haren

KANSAS CITY -- Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said he would listen to trade offers regarding right-hander Dan Haren. Rizzo would want a lot in return, however.

The Nationals have already placed Haren on revocable trade waivers, but he cleared waivers and can be traded to any team.

"We would certainly listen. I wouldn't do my job if we didn't. We would have to get ourselves a good package of players for us to consider moving him," Rizzo said.

Haren said he is not thinking about his future with the Nationals. He is only thinking about Sunday's start against the Royals. A few weeks ago, however, he felt he would not be back with the team because of his overall performance. In 24 games, Haren is 8-11 with a 4.64 ERA with one save.

"Whatever happens, happens. It's out of my control," Haren said.
