White Sox announce upcoming series activities

WHAT: Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming home series vs. Toronto and Baltimore. Tickets for all six games of the homestand are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and through Ticketmaster.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago will televise Friday, Saturday, Monday and Wednesday's games. WGN-TV will broadcast Sunday's game. Comcast SportsNet Plus will televise Tuesday's game. All games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

The Chicago White Sox will host Country Music Night, presented by Pepsi, on Friday, August 15. The game features a variety of entertainment, including an acoustic on-field live performance by Mercury Records country music artist Easton Corbin behind the Grand Ole Opry's signature microphone stand, which will be on display in Section 157 for fan photos. Country music will be played throughout the game as part of a partnership with Nashville's famous Grand Ole Opry, Chicago's US99.5 radio and Joe's Bar. There will be a fireworks display set to country music after the game. Friday's #SoxSocial Night includes various contests and promotions throughout the day revolving around Vine and Tumblr. The first 200 fans to purchase tickets to this #SoxSocial Night at whitesox.com/soxsocial will receive a #SoxSocial t-shirt.

White Sox legend and Hall of Famer Frank Thomas will be honored in a pregame ceremony. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Frank Thomas bobblehead, presented by Comcast SportsNet.

Family Sunday, presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital, includes free pregame autograph sessions (kids only) and postgame kids run the bases. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in Lower Level, with $10 parking. Additional entertainment includes face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist, magnet art and a photo opportunity with the White Sox Broadcast Dashers.

The White Sox host Spirit and Mascot Day on Sunday, August 17. This marks the 16th season that the White Sox have hosted local cheerleading squads at the ballpark for a pregame exhibition. Southpaw will be joined by the mascots for the Chicago Bears, Wolves, Fire and a number of other local mascots for a pregame parade around the warning track and various activities throughout the game.

The K Zone For Sale is a ballpark promotion launched this season in Sections 154 and 155 - a total of more than 930 seats. When Sox ace Chris Sale starts, fans with tickets in these sections receive a "K Zone For Sale" t-shirt and strikeout placard, which are redeemed at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. "K Zone For Sale" tickets are $20 for most games, with the exception of Family Sundays, when tickets are $15 (all subject to availability).

The first 20,000 fans that enter the ballpark will receive a free Chris Sale t-shirt as part of the new Free T-Shirt Monday giveaway promotion. The remaining t-shirt giveaway will feature Paul Konerko on September 8.

Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory will have a special traveling exhibit on display at U.S. Cellular Field from August 18-20. Fans can visit the 100 Level concourse near the Scoreboard Gift Shop, located under XFINITY Fundamentals, and Section 157 to see bats being made by hand. The exhibit will include a bat swung by Shoeless Joe Jackson and bats used by Dick Allen, Harold Baines, Paul Konerko, Robin Ventura and Cal Ripken. The museum also will have its rock-n-roll bats signed by The Who, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard and Motley Crue on display.

Tony Lucca, Rock Ridge artist and second runner-up on the second season of NBC's "The Voice," will perform the National Anthem and a pregame acoustic set on the field. Lucca has shared the stage with 'N Sync, Marc Anthony, Macy Gray and Sara Bareilles, among others.
