White Sox Car Raffle Winner Selected
More Than $36,000 Raised for White Sox Charities
CHICAGO - Chicago police officer Michael Kasper was randomly selected as the winner of the nearly season-long Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) raffle for a White Sox-themed 2014 Mazda 3 i Touring hatchback - generously donated by CJ Wilson Mazda.
More than 3,600 raffle tickets were sold between May 7 and September 5, raising over $36,000 for Chicago White Sox Charities. Since its inception in 1990, CWSC has given nearly $21 million in charitable donations to various nonprofit and social service organizations, youth baseball initiatives and inner-city programs. Additionally, CWSC provides grants to a variety of organizations in the Chicagoland area that are committed to the fight against cancer, improving the lives of youth through education and athletics, assisting at-risk children and families and supporting health and wellness programs. In the past calendar year alone, CWSC donated $1.68 million to organizations in need.
Kasper is a Chicago resident and life-long White Sox fan. He has served as a police officer for more than 20 years. The White Sox will present Kasper with his new car (image of the vehicle attached) in an on-field ceremony prior to the September 26 game vs. the Kansas City Royals at 7:10 p.m.
