White Sox recall Dylan Axelrod from Class AA Birmingham

CHICAGO - Prior to tonight's game vs. Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod from Class AA Birmingham.
            
Axelrod, 27, is 2-2 with a 4.93 ERA (25 ER/45.2 IP) over 11 appearances (seven starts) with the White Sox this season.  He earned the victory in his last start on August 29 at Baltimore, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts over a career-high 7.1 IP.  The 6-foot-0, 195-pounder was optioned to Birmingham following the game.

He did not appear in a game with the Barons.

Axelrod has gone 7-5 with a 2.88 ERA (31 ER/97.0 IP) and 92 strikeouts in 16 starts with Class AAA Charlotte this season.

With the move, the White Sox active roster increases to 33.
