White Sox reinstate Bonifacio, option L. Garcia

CHICAGO -- The White Sox reinstated infielder Emilio Bonifacio from the disabled list Friday, optioning Leury Garcia to Triple-A Charlotte.

"It's the same as having Leury around, but a different guy, a great clubhouse guy who can do a lot of different things. Versatility-wise, it's nice to have him back," said White Sox manager Robin Ventura of Bonifacio's return. "Great guy inside the clubhouse and very versatile. We can get into a couple different binds here and be able to have a guy to go out and do multiple different things."

Bonifacio, 30, was placed on the 15-day DL on July 29 with a left oblique strain. He's hitting .169 in 45 games this season for Chicago.

The 24-year-old Garcia has gone 2-for-6 in seven games over two stints with the White Sox this season. He's hit .296 with 15 doubles, 40 runs and 28 stolen bases for Charlotte.
