White Sox reinstate Dan Jennings from disabled list; Option Junior Guerra to Class AAA Charlotte

ST. LOUIS - Prior to tonight's game at St. Louis, the Chicago White Sox returned left-handed pitcher Dan Jennings from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-hander Junior Guerra to Charlotte.

Jennings, 28, was placed on the disabled list on June 7 (retroactive to June 5) with inflammation on the left side of his neck. He threw 6.0 IP over three relief appearances with Charlotte on his rehab assignment.

Jennings is 1-2 with a 7.83 ERA (20 ER/23.0 IP) and 21 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances with the White Sox this season, his first with the club after being acquired from Miami on December 11, 2014.

Guerra, 30, went 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA (3 ER/4.0 IP) in three relief appearances with the White Sox since his contract was purchased from Charlotte on June 7.

Guerra was 2-6 with a 2.72 ERA (15 ER/49.2 IP) and 66 strikeouts in 12 games (eight starts) this season between Class AA Birmingham and Charlotte. He limited opponents to a .202 average (35-173) while averaging 11.96 strikeouts per 9.0 IP.
