Petricka sent to Triple-A for rehab assignment

The White Sox have sent right-hander Jake Petricka to Triple-A Charlotte on a rehab assignment.

The 26-year-old has been on the disabled list since April 5 (retroactive to March 27) with a right forearm strain.

Petricka appeared in five Cactus League games for the Sox this spring, surrendering two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings. His last outing came on March 23.

The righty went 1-6 with a 2.96 ERA in 73 innings pitched as a rookie last year. Petricka recorded 14 saves and struck out 55, leading all Major League rookies in saves, while ranking third in innings pitched and appearances (67).
