Flores rests; d'Arnaud, Herrera eye returns

PHOENIX -- Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores sat out Saturday due to general soreness, but should be fine to return to the lineup Sunday.

"He came in, said he was real, real stiff yesterday," Mets manager Terry Collins said Saturday. "He was stiff again today. Those are signs of fatigue setting in. We've got enough guys on the DL."

The Mets have 13 players on the DL, tied with the Rangers for the most in Major League Baseball. Some of them, however, are finally nearing returns.

Catcher Travis d'Arnaud finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, while second baseman Dilson Herrera was 1-for-4 Saturday in rehab appearances for Class A St. Lucie. Both played full games in the field, and could move to a higher level before returning to the Mets as soon as next week.
