With foot feeling better, Lowrie back in lineup

HOUSTON -- The A's got back Jed Lowrie just in time for Sunday's series finale in Houston, where they secured a three-game sweep and ninth win in as many tries this season against the Astros.

Lowrie, who entered with a .301 clip, hit from the fifth hole while playing second base, going 1-for-4. Manager Bob Melvin opted to play Adam Rosales at shortstop, where he feels the infielder is more comfortable.

Rosales, too, was hitting above .300 through May 14. Since, though, he's just 1-for-23, after an 0-for-4 showing Sunday.

"He's just going through a tough time," Melvin said. "Last time I looked up he was over .300, now he's down a little bit. Just the ebbs and flows of the season. There's times when you're seeing the ball really good, times you don't, and right now he's going through a little bit of a tough time."

Lowrie missed three games while healing from a right foot contusion sustained when he was hit by a Yu Darvish pitch in Texas on Tuesday.
