Worth noting

• Richards got hit around a bit during Tuesday's intrasquad game, giving up four runs in a four-inning stint. Scioscia said Richards, who got into the 60-pitch range, "had problems with command early, but finished strong."

• Bill Hall, out since suffering tightness in his right quad on Feb. 27, ran the bases on Tuesday morning, then got four at-bats while serving as the designated hitter in the intrasquad game. Scioscia said it'll be three or four more days until he plays the field in a game again.

• Sean Burnett, sidelined with stiffness in his lower back early in spring, could appear in his first Spring Training game on Wednesday against the Padres at 1:05 p.m. PT (watch on MLB.TV).

• Ryan Madson, recovering from Tommy John surgery, came out of Monday's 20-pitch bullpen session fine and will repeat it within the next couple of days.
