Worth noting

• After the game Friday, the Mets selected right-hander LaTroy Hawkins, left-hander Scott Rice, outfielder Marlon Byrd and right-hander Scott Atchison to the Major League roster. All four players were non-roster invitees to camp this spring.

Left-hander Robert Carson was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas, and Omar Quintanilla and catcher Landon Powell were both reassigned to Triple-A. Infielder Reese Havens and left-hander Darin Gorski were outrighted off the 40-man roster.

Left-hander Pedro Feliciano will remain in Port St. Lucie while outfielder Matt den Dekker and left-hander Tim Byrdak will continue rehabbing at the Mets complex.

• Manager Terry Collins said Jeremy Hefner is expected to follow Dillon Gee in Saturday's game against the Orioles.

• In his second game back from a strained intercostal issue, infielder Daniel Murphy went 2-for-4 with a run Friday.

"I told Dan it looks like he is ready," Collins said. "He's gonna have to be patient with some things because he's gonna have to play himself into shape a little bit. But he looks good, moving pretty good. It doesn't look like there's any difficulty swinging."
