Worth noting

• Useless fact of the day: Manuel briefly played with actor James Van Der Beek's father in Triple-A Albuquerque in 1974.

The actor confirmed this on his Twitter account Friday: "Just asked my Dad -- confirmed. They were teammates briefly on the Triple-A Albuquerque Dukes. Apparently he struck him out in Spring Training on a 3-2 changeup. Dad must have had a hell of a changeup."

Said Manuel: "He wasn't the only one that struck me out. I bet he didn't tell you that I probably shot him if he pitched."

•The Phillies entered Saturday tied for the big league lead with six pinch-hit RBIs. They ranked second with five pinch-hits.

•The Phillies bullpen has a 1.02 ERA (two earned runs in 17 2/3 innings) in their last six games.

•The Phillies entered Saturday leading the National League with 10 stolen bases. Oakland leads the Majors with 11. The Phillies have been caught stealing only twice (84.6 stolen-base percentage). They have led the big leagues each of the previous six seasons in stolen-base percentage.
