Worth noting

• Tsuyoshi Wada, recovering from Tommy John surgery, will throw what is expected to be his final extended spring game on Saturday. Assuming all goes well, he will go out on Minor League rehab assignment after that.

"I was talking to different guys about him down there," Showalter said. "I had Brian Roberts go down there and scout it out for me. He had some interesting things to say. I'll have Wilson [Betemit] have a look at him next time out, and then [Taylor] Teagarden."

Speaking of Roberts, he continues to progress in baseball activities, with the next step for him to take batting practice, although no date has been set for that.

• Zach Britton suffered the loss for Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday after yielding five runs (three earned) on 10 hits in six-plus innings of work. Britton walked one and struck out three while getting 10 ground ball outs.

• Miguel Gonzalez (blister) will try to throw on Tuesday, with the team having a better idea of his exact schedule after that. With Monday's off-day, the team could push Gonzalez back and have Garcia start on his turn on Thursday.
