Worth noting

• Franklin Gutierrez went 1-for-5 with an RBI as the designated hitter for Tacoma on Thursday in his first Minor League rehab appearance. Gutierrez is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring.

• Right-handed reliever Josh Kinney is expected to make his first rehab appearance for Tacoma on Friday as he begins his return from a stress reaction in his ribs that sidelined him midway through Spring Training. Kinney is on the 60-day disabled list through at least May 30.

• Mariners outfielders had hit 27 home runs going into Friday's action, the most of any Major League team. The Rockies outfielders have hit 24.
