• The Orioles transferred Brian Roberts to the 60-day DL to clear a 40-man roster spot for Saturday's starter Jair Jurrjens. Roberts, 35, was placed on the 15-day DL with a right hamstring strain on April 5. Alex Burnett was optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk to create a spot on the 25-man roster.

• Taylor Teagarden had the splint removed from his left thumb on Friday, although there are no imminent plans for him to go out on rehab assignment.

• Jake Pettit made Saturday's start for Triple-A Norfolk in Arrieta's place.

• Orioles Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson turned 76 on Saturday.
