Worth noting

• Closer prospect Bruce Rondon had a hiccup for Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday morning, walking four out of the six batters he faced in the ninth inning. It wasn't a save situation, as he entered in the ninth inning with a six-run lead. Still, he threw just 10 of his 30 pitches for strikes.

• Class A Lakeland closer Melvin Mercedes and left-hander Kyle Ryan were named to the North squad in the Florida State League All-Star Game. Lakeland manager Dave Huppert, pitching coach Mike Maroth and hitting coach Larry Herndon will coach the squad in the game, to be held in Dunedin on June 15.

• Prospect Nick Castellanos continued to make his case for an eventual promotion with his fourth three-hit effort in his last 10 games for Triple-A Toledo, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs on Wednesday at Columbus. He's batting .462 over the stretch, raising his season average from .251 to .286 in the process.
