Worth noting

• Nothing's official yet, but it looks like a good bet that Jerome Williams will be starting Wednesday's game against the Orioles -- barring a long game that would prompt him to be used out of the bullpen before then. The Angels need a sixth starter because of Saturday's doubleheader. Williams had a 2.14 ERA in his last five starts, but was moved to the bullpen when the Angels went back to five starters recently.

• Peter Bourjos, out since April 30 with a strained left hamstring, went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts for Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, but ran well from first to third on an errant throw and made a couple of running catches in center field. Bourjos, 5-for-19 in his rehab stint, is expected to play one more game in Triple-A before being activated off the disabled list, probably as soon as Monday's series opener in Baltimore.

• Relievers Sean Burnett and Ryan Madson continue to throw off flat ground, but the Angels are still unsure when either of them will return to the mound. Burnett was placed on the DL on May 28 because of a left elbow impingement that was expected to be minor but still hasn't subsided. Madson is still battling back from the elbow soreness that crept up in a rehab outing for Class A Inland Empire on May 13.
