Worth noting

• Phillies setup man Mike Adams has soreness in his right biceps and is unavailable to pitch.

• Ryan Howard was not in the starting lineup Saturday as the Phillies faced left-hander Tom Gorzelanny. But Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said he also wanted to get Howard, who has been bothered with inflammation in his left knee, off his feet. He did however pinch-hit in the eighth inning of the 4-3 loss, but grounded out to the pitcher to end the eighth inning.

• Phillies left-hander John Lannan will make a rehab start Wednesday with Double-A Reading as he recovers from a left knee injury. He allowed six hits, two runs (one earned run), one walk and struck out five in four innings Friday in a rehab start with Class A Clearwater.

• Right-hander Chad Durbin cleared release waivers Sunday. The Phillies are interested in bringing back Durbin in some capacity, possibly as a reliever with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but nothing has been finalized.
