Worth noting

• Prior to Wednesday's game, the Angels made a couple of roster moves.

Following Tuesday's 14-inning marathon, the Angels needed more depth in the bullpen, so Collin Cowgill was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake and Billy Buckner was promoted.

The Angels also transferred Robert Coello from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL.

Hank Conger said his fingers were a little numb following Tuesday's game because of a ball that hit him in the hand when he was trying to execute a suicide squeeze.

However, Conger is batting fifth and catching on Wednesday and said his hand is now 100 percent.

• The waiver claim period on Jason Vargas and Erick Aybar ended on Wednesday and both players were present in the Angels clubhouse. Aybar was batting second and starting at shortstop.
