Worth noting

• Outfielder Oswaldo Arcia has been taking anti-inflammatory medicine and receiving treatment on his sore left wrist, and was held out of the lineup for a second straight game on Wednesday.

He's a candidate to be placed on the 15-day disabled list if he doesn't get through batting practice on Thursday, according to Antony. Gardenhire mentioned Darin Mastroianni and Chris Parmelee as candidates to be recalled from Triple-A Rochester if Arcia goes on the DL.

• Triple-A Rochester outfielder Aaron Hicks was activated from the Minor League disabled list, but left Rochester's game on Tuesday night after spraining his left wrist diving for a ball in the outfield. Hicks, who was originally out with a sore heel, is expected to be examined further and is likely to go back on the Minor League DL.

• Right-hander Alex Meyer, who is working his way back from a strained right shoulder, was promoted to Double-A New Britain. Meyer made three starts in the Gulf Coast League, posting a 1.08 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings.

Meyer, ranked as the Twins' No. 3 overall prospect according to MLB.com, touched 98 mph in his last start in the Gulf Coast League on Monday.
