The award is voted on by committees within the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. The overall MLB winner will be announced on Nov. 19.

• Second baseman Kolten Wong made his first career start at Busch Stadium on Friday. Wong struck out in a pinch-hit appearance on Thursday.

• TBS announced that it will televise the Cardinals-Braves game on Sunday. The start time remains 1:15 p.m. CT, and the game will still be broadcast by Fox Sports Midwest.

• With a last at-bat win on Thursday, Triple-A Memphis remains two games behind division-leading Omaha with 11 games remaining on the schedule. The win was Memphis' fourth in a row, but just its second this season when trailing after eight innings.
